Ryad Tamouza

Ryad TAMOUZA M.D., Ph.D., M.M.Sc. is an immunologist specialised in immunogenetics. Formerly team leader in the Jean Dausset Histocompatibility clinical diagnostic unit, as well PI in INSERM units 940 & 1160 at Saint Louis hospital, he recently joined the “Immunopsychiatry” component of the Mondor Institute of biomedical research team (unit head: Marion Leboyer), in charge of R&D and translational aspects.

His group presently focuses on immuno-inflammatory cascade and the immunogenetic background (HLA and non-HLA) of major psychiatric disorders (bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, autism and resistant depression) with particular interest in infection, immunity and autoimmunity.

His expertise in translational immunology related to transplantation biology, infections, autoimmunity and cancer is attested by more than 190 international peer reviewed publications including recent releases in the field of immunopsychiatry. R. Tamouza has also held PI or co-PI positions in a large number of national and international grants.
